All of our teachers are Registered Yoga Teachers (RYT), which means they’ve been trained in anatomy, philosophy, pranayama and meditation from a Yoga Alliance Certified program. They understand that no two bodies are alike and will teach you how to make the pose fit you so you can benefit the most from your practice.

Lindsay Ridinger

Lindsay graduated from Yoga Strong, LLC's RYT 200-hour program in January 2015. In addition to teaching for Akron Yoga and Wellness, Lindsay enjoys teaching friends and family yoga in her apartment. She enjoys taking yoga classes with different teachers, at different studios and in different spaces - the variety supports her growth as a teacher and a student. She encourages her students do the same. One of Lindsay's favorite quotes is Eleanor Roosevelt's "Do one thing every day that scares you" because challenging and surprising herself has helped Lindsay grow into a happier, more confident woman. She hopes her students discover new challenges in her classes and grow their practice as a result of trying something new to benefit the mind, body and soul.

Michaela Shilling

Michaela was first introduced to the wonderful world of yoga in 2004 and immediately felt a connection to its teachings.  Soon she began to move beyond the physical benefits and discovered the wholeness yoga provided to the mind, body, and consciousness.

Michaela went on to receive a Bachelor's degree in Psychology from Kent State University.  This is where she discovered how multilayered true health is.  The need for more knowledge led her to take her 200 hour yoga teacher training at Halfmoon Yoga in Medina.  From there she was inspired to begin her journey to become a Yoga Therapist and is currently in training at the Himalayan Institute in Pennsylvania.

Michaela's classes are always a nonjudgmental atmosphere where students are encouraged to explore their practice at any level. She reminds students to turn off the ego and listen to what their bodies need.  Proper alignment and breath to movement are emphasized to help students stay present in each asana.

Kim Evans

Kim started her yoga journey in 2009 when she was looking for a way to improve her overall health. She knew that in order to continue to be good at her job as a 911 dispatcher, she needed to find a way to not only take care of her body, but also her mind.

Her yoga journey led her on the path to become a yoga teacher and she completed her 200 hour Hatha training in 2017 from Awaken Yoga in Mentor, and recently completed her 300 hour advanced training from Yoga 108.

Kim has a previous background in the food industry, so when the craft beer movement started she was on board. She loves to check out local breweries and try new beers and especially loves seeing the inner workings of a brewery and talking to brew masters to hear where they get their inspiration and ideas from.

Kim’s mission statement is to help people connect with their bodies and find peace and joy.

Kim is also the coordinator for the Akron/Canton Balance & Brews Community!
